NFSU-Guwahati Campus is the 9th Campus of NFSU in India and the main campus in northeast India, which was established, and its transit campus was inaugurated by the Honorable Home Minister of India on 25th May 2023 at Guwahati, Assam. The campus in engaged in imparting high-quality education and research in Forensic and allied sciences and is ready to provide training and consultancy services to all law enforcement agencies and similar organizations from both public and private sectors. One of the major objectives of NFSU Guwahati campus is to promote Forensic Science education in north-east India, produce scientifically and technically sound Forensic experts through education, skill development and training and strengthen the criminal justice delivery system. The campus will impart training to professionals in diverse area of forensic sciences (Crime Scene Management, DNA Forensics, Analysis of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, Ballistics Studies and Post Blast Investigations, Forensic Document Examination, Forensic Psychology, Homeland Security, Cyber Security and Digital Forensics) from government and private organization from East and North East Indian states as well as from neighboring countries.
Presently the NFSU Guwahati campus is functioning from its two transit campuses situated at two different parts of Guwahati city, namely:
The permanent campus of NFSU is under establishment in full swing at the sprawling 50 acre of land given by state government of Assam at Molong, Changsari in Kamrup district.
The campus presently running six academic programs under 3 different schools. Under School of Forensic Science four academic programs [(i) MSc Forensic Science (2 Years), (ii) PG Diploma in DNA Forensics (1 year), (iii) PG Diploma in Forensic Document Examination (1 Year), (iv) PG Diploma in Forensic Ballistics (1 year)]. School of Cyber Security and Digital Forensics is running BTech – MTech in Computer Science & Engineering (Cyber Security), which is a 5 years Integrated Program. School of Police Science and Security Studies is presently running a 2 years Master’s program (MA Police & Security Studies). With its excellent infrastructural facilities, a large pool of highly qualified faculties and forensic professionals, large integrated network of various NFSU campuses and Forensic Laboratories and through its great strategic location, NFSU Guwahati is ready to serve as an International hub for forensic Education, Training and Skilling for all neighboring Indian states and east Asian countries.
